Fly-out: Washington, D.C. Cherry Blossoms / Air & Space Museum on Monday, April 6

About the Event

Spend the day flying into Washington, D.C. for a springtime adventure timed with peak cherry blossom season. Departing from KHPN, this group fly-out takes you to Washington Dulles International (IAD), followed by a shuttle into the heart of the city. From there, you can stroll along the Tidal Basin beneath the famous cherry blossoms with views of the Jefferson Memorial, or explore the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum—one of the most celebrated aviation museums in the world, or choose to do both!

We’ll focus on Aeronautical Decision-Making (ADM) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) and along the way, you’ll gain valuable experience planning and navigating a flight into the Washington, D.C. area, including considerations related to the Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA). After a full afternoon in the capital, we’ll regroup for the return shuttle to Dulles and depart for the flight back to Westchester, arriving in the early evening. It’s a great opportunity to sharpen your skills while enjoying one of the most iconic spring destinations in the Northeast.

• Fly to: Dulles International – IAD
• Ground transfer: 10:30 AM – Shuttle to Metro D.C.
• Stop 1: Tidal Basin, Cherry Blossoms + Jefferson Memorial
• Stop 2: Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
• Return shuttle: 3:30 PM – Departs the Museum
• Return: ETA @ KHPN - 6 PM
