Fly-out: Toronto Day Trip / Skyline Views & Sightseeing on Friday, May 29

About the Event

Spend the day flying into Toronto, Canada for an international day-trip adventure with optional lunch at 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower and time for local sightseeing downtown. Departing from KHPN, this group fly-out takes you to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (CYTZ), an ideal arrival point for exploring the city.

Because this is a cross-border flight, we’ll focus on smart pre-planning and operational readiness, including eAPIS (Electronic Advance Passenger Information System), CanPass, document checks, and international trip/flight planning. We’ll also review key considerations specific to CYTZ—including that there are no instrument approaches—and what that means for weather planning and alternates.

Plan to depart around 9:00 AM on Friday, May 29, flying direct to CYTZ unless weather or other factors require adjustments. Each PIC will choose their route and IFR flight plan as appropriate. After a full afternoon in the city, we’ll aim to depart around 3:00 PM for the return flight to KHPN.

Prior to the event, there will be a mandatory briefing covering flight planning, eAPIS, potential weather enroute, and alternate airport planning. After that, it’s wheels up for a terrific day of flying, learning, and exploring.
