About the Event

Spend the day flying to the scenic coast of Maine for the Performance Flight Lobster Run. This group fly-out will bring pilots to Owls Head, Maine, for a full day of flying, coastal views, aviation history, and great local food.

Departing from KHPN, pilots will build valuable real-world experience during a longer cross-country flight to Knox County Regional Airport (KRKD). The route offers beautiful views of the New England coastline and an opportunity to practice flight planning, weather evaluation, and destination-based operations in a structured group setting.

After landing, the group will visit the Owls Head Transportation Museum, home to an impressive collection of historic aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, and engines. Participants will then enjoy lunch at either the Airport Café or McLoon’s Lobster Shack, a classic Maine destination located along the coast.

This fly-out is designed to combine practical flying experience with a memorable day of exploration and community. It is a great opportunity to use the airplane for destination travel, sharpen cross-country skills, and enjoy one of New England’s most scenic aviation destinations.
